This website clearly shows the evolution of typewriters to computers and I understand how we came from computers to typewriters.

This site was very useful to me as it clearly explained the evolution of blackboards to whiteboards and to smart boards. Plus it easily explained the pros and cons of all three devices about how good and how bad they can be.

Cyborg History:

A cyborg is a mechanically enhanced human it is an organism both natural and artificial. The term was first used in 1960 when scientists Manfred Kline and Nathan Kline first came up with the idea of a cybernetically enhanced human. When Neal Armstrong first went to the moon in the first spacesuit which inspired Manfred and Nathan to create a human being who would think normally but some of their internal organs would be fitted with computer chips connected to the brain, spinal cord and heart. The cyborgs could also be used for war purposes which would give America huge advantages over enemy countries but the theory would be that the Cyborgs would eventually turn their back on the human race and start a human/machine war.

Cyborgs would have their uses as the would be enhanced as their brains would be like computers and they would be strong enough to destroy walls and fortresses plus their arms would have inbuilt weapons like flamethrowers and machine guns.  The most valuable ability to a cyborg would be they would have an inbuilt ability to heal physical problems like scratches and cuts however they cannot heal gunshots to the head they would also be immune to fire but that was never confirmed.

Ken Stalerc The first Cyborg:

Ken Stelarc an Australian Genius in robotics who took Manfred and Nathan Klines idea and literally tried to become the first cyborg. Stelarc has done things to himself that other people could not even dream of doing. Stelarc started his work with mechanical organs he created a mechanical heart, two lungs and a liver. He could only get the liver to work so he decided to have a liver transplant to test his project the test seemed to go well the first few days but there was a slight malfunction of the liver which caused some internal bleeding but was eventually brought under control alas it did not slow Ken down. The liver idea according to Stelarc is said to last 70 good years without failure but as Stelarc found out it had a few set backs. Stelarc then started a term he called Stelarc’s Art which simply explained the art of combining organic matter with neural activity (Machines with Human Flesh). He started using this term with a project called project cyber suit which involved making a four-legged device that has wires connected to the brain, arms and legs. The machine monitors your thoughts and responds to what movement you decide to make. The machine idea worked perfectly with no problems but it wasn’t as independent as Stelarc wanted. Since then Stelarc has done crazy things to himself he has tried to swallow computer chips hoping they will attach to the brain and increase the human intellect but it ended up coming out in the toilet. Up to this day he has only tried mechanical arms and legs but neither have been very successful. Ken Stelarc has done some amazing things but has simply scared the public many believe he will eventually kill himself but he is determined to make a huge scientific breakthrough.

This site i used described what a cyborg is and the originaters of the idea who did not do any practical work with technology they had lots of ideas but also had lots of drawbacks which could also mean a human/machine war. But the site had som great points about cyborgs and what they are or what they could become.
